Jessica Watson, ‘the darling of the high seas' will appear daily at the Better Boating Lounge in Hall 2.
Jessica captured people’s imagination in her determination and commitment to be the youngest person to sail solo, non-stop and unassisted around the world.
On the 15 May 2010, after 210 days at sea and 24,000 nautical miles, Jessica sailed through the heads to an enthusiastic and emotional pink carpet welcome from her relieved parents, the NSW Premier and Prime Minister of Australia having achieved what she set out to do. To many, Jessica was a hero. She disagreed, saying she is 'just an ordinary girl who had a dream and worked hard at it and proved that anything is possible.'
Jessica will be talking about her amazing voyage and new book 'True Spirit'.
