Fishermen across Australia have abandoned their tackle boxes and fishing rods in order to get a glimpse at the brand new Viking 56 Convertible.
One of the sleekest yachts on the international market, the 56 Convertible will be launched to the Australian boating industry for its first ever viewing at the Sydney International Boat Show in July 2005.
The innovative Viking 56 offers a first in pure luxury for a game fishing craft while still providing the superb features family cruising demands. It is a sports fishing yacht that does double duty as a luxurious cruiser.
Euroyachts will be the sole distributor of Viking Yachts in Australia and has already had a great deal of interest in this yacht due to its luxury features, high performance, innovative design and engineering.
The fly bridge features a centerline helm for superb visibility for high-speed cruising and tournament fishing. Handling is swift and precise thanks to power-assisted hydraulic steering and available single lever controls. Engines are mounted on powder-coated structural steel frames to ensure alignment for seamless transfer of power and to isolate vibration for smooth operation. Fishing rods stow safely and out of sight beneath the starboard and forward bench seats, which are topped with thick, supple vinyl cushions. There is even an insulated cooler box to keep drinks chilled all day.
As you would expect from Viking, the 145 square-foot cockpit can be set up to handle any fishing or cruising assignment and is overflowing with smart ideas. A walk-through transom door is ideal for pulling big fish aboard, as well as safe and easy boarding at the dock. A recessed fish box is flanked by a pair of deep stowage wells, one of which can be ordered as a livewell to keep bait alive and frisky. The self-bailing cockpit features fresh and sea-water wash down systems, indirect and overhead lighting, a tackle cabinet with built-in freezer and bait rigging station, four flush rod holders, dockside electrical and water connections, gaff stowage and a grippy, molded non-slip fiberglass sole.
Speed is not sacrificed to size, the 56 can cruise from mid 30 knots to over 40 knots. What is more, the 56 Convertible is the only boat in its class to hold a capacity of 1,500 gallons of fuel.
While above deck is impressive, it is the interior of this yacht that sets it apart from the crowd. The saloon is lush with hand-finished teak joinery, built-in cabinetry, premium dry goods and frameless windows. Air-conditioning and a home theatre entertainment system are integrated into the plan for maximum interior pleasure. In the U-shaped galley, clearly the most efficient use of valuable space, deep cabinetry and abundant drawer stowage swallow a months worth of cruising supplies with ease. Generously spacious and comfortable, the 56 Convertible is a fantastic yacht for fishing and family journeys.
World wide, Viking Yachts are renowned for their fine craftsmanship, sea keeping ability and performance, unbeatable quality and design, and attention to engineering details. These factors alone make Viking a leader in their field.
