The Lightwave 45 Sports Cruiser is an exciting new production cat from one of Australias leading catamaran builders, Lightwave Yachts. With the design emphasis on elegant, efficient, seakindly hulls, and ample bridge clearance this design is set to be an awesome blue water performer.
Lightwave Yachts have responded to strong demand for a high performance blue water cruiser with a brand new design based on their successful 38 sailing model. The Lightwave 45 Sports Cruiser has incorporated many of the refinements to the deck and cockpit layout that have made these boats among the most refined and technically advanced on the market.
Managing Director, Roger Overell, is an enthusiastic multihull racing specialist who has raced many line honour catamarans over the years. With this need for speed in his blood, when it comes to producing catamarans, performance is paramount. Our owners admire the Lightwaves for their performance, absolute comfort and ease of handling comments Roger. The 45 is designed for the serious sailor who commands performance!
This design concentrates on keeping the accommodation close to the centre of buoyancy reducing pitch motion and providing optimum performance and comfort in the ocean. The larger hulls provide extensive storage and tankage areas, generous bridgedeck clearance, and the power of a bigger rig and engines. Long overhangs forward and aft combined with a modest accommodation plan ensure the hulls are easily driven and provide optimum comfort at sea.
The Lightwave 45 Sports Cruiser accommodation arrangement provides for up to three queen cabins, with every comfort imaginable included (like the walk in robe and island type bed in the Master Stateroom). The expansive cockpit/aft deck area provides both a sheltered outdoor dining area and space for a cockpit fridge/freezer. The cockpit layout is complimented by a board transom platform which is ideal for fishing and dinghy stowage at sea. The deck layout and sail systems are configured for ease of handling while shorthanded and Lightwave Yachts are ready to incorporate custom and semi custom design requirements, including a choice between fixed keels and dagger boards.
The Lightwave 45 will be launched at the 2005 Sydney Boat Show at the end of July. With two 45s sold pre-release its promising to be a popular design. Keep posted at www.lightwaveyachts.comSPECIFICATIONS LIGHTWAVE 45
