22nd June 2005 (390 words)
The 2005 Sydney International Boat Show (July 28-August 2) has always been a bonanza of entertainment and 'boat show specials' to interest the enthusiast.
This year, thanks to Yamaha Motor Australia, there's an added bonus, with buyers of a Yamaha outboard engine or Wave Runner personal watercraft given the opportunity to take a never-to-be-forgotten souvenir of the show.
Every purchaser of an engine or Waverunner will receive an entry to go into the draw for a fabulous Yamaha Home Theatre system, valued at $14,000.
If the buyer organises finance for the purchase through Yamaha Marine Finance, he/she will receive two entries to the draw.
The purchase must be made from one of the Yamaha dealers exhibiting at the show, and entry vouchers will be available on the exhibition stands of all participating Yamaha dealers.
Yamaha will make the draw and announce the lucky winner on the Yamaha stand at 7.30pm, Tuesday, August 2, the final day of the show.
The winner will also be notified by mail and an announcement confirming the result will appear in the Sydney Morning Herald the following Saturday, August 6.
Yamaha's offer is just one more reason among many to visit the greatest recreational boat show staged south of the equator.
More than 300 exhibitors will be participating, with the six vast halls of the Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre packed to the proverbial rafters with all manner of boats, engines, marine electronics, fishing tackle, nautical fashion and general boating accessories.
On the spectacular Cockle Bay Marina, more than 270 luxury vessels will be on display, many carrying retail prices equal to a Sydney waterfront home.
Last year, visitor attendance to the show, nearly 94,000, established a record for any boat show ever held in the Southern Hemisphere.
Organised by the Boating Industry Association of NSW and sponsored by Club Marine and NSW Maritime, the Sydney International is a stunning showcase for the Australian marine industry.
The show will be open daily, 10am to 8pm (halls and adjoining marina). Admission charges are $17 (single adult), $40 (family ticket admitting two adults and up to three children aged 6-17-years), $15 (Seniors Card holders), $11 (Pensioners) and $9 (children aged 6-17-years). Children under 5-years admitted free.
The Darling Harbour complex is served by all manner of public transport, while motorists will find ample car parking surrounding the venue.
