CoastLife Rent-a-Boat Opens Up Boating to the Masses
25th July 2005

Boating has long been the dream of many but the reality of few. Soon all is about to change with the arrival of CoastLife Rent a Boat.

It is the brainchild of the Henry Kendall Group, a company with a 55-year track record in lifestyle property development and more recently ‘CoastLife Marine’ based on NSW’s Central Coast. So the necessary asset backing and solid support systems will not be an issue.

CoastLife Rent a Boat will grow into a professionally run, national network of boat rental franchises at places like caravan parks and tourist facilities by the water. Modern runabouts from 3 – 6 metres will be powered by the latest Mercury outboards. The boats are made of polyethylene by Mac and Polycraft, innovators in polyethylene technology. This advanced material is amazingly resilient and offers a ride that has to be experienced to be believed.

Crucial to CoastLife Rent a Boat’s success will be highly trained operators more akin to those of national car rental networks. Training of customers will mean high levels of safety. Servicing will be handled at regular intervals by Mercury’s national service network, for reliability and performance. So forget about those beaten up tinnies at traditional hire services.

CoastLife Rent a Boat will also be attractive for franchisees, allowing entrepreneurs to build a business from pleasure. Franchises will operate standalone, or as a value added business in places like caravan parks. In turn, more customers will be attracted to stay at these caravan parks. With a national marketing effort, full training and support, CoastLife Rent a Boat will rival established franchises like the fast food and automotive chains.

So a whole new world of boating pleasure will be opened up to families, fishermen and retirees. Watch out for the growing CoastLife network, plus advertising in lifestyle publications and the boating press. CoastLife Rent a Boat won’t just see more people onto the water, but will help grow the entire boating industry.
