Maritimo to Unveil its Latest Creation at the Sydney International Boat Show

Fresh from its triumph at the recent Australian Marine Industry Federation (AMIF) awards, which saw its magnificent Maritimo 60 named Cruiser of the Year and Australia's all-round Boat of the Year, the company has again selected the Sydney International Boat Show to officially launch its new model, the Maritimo 52.

In choosing Sydney to debut a new model, Maritimo has followed the same path as many major marine industry organisations in viewing the Sydney International as "the" show to launch new products to the world.

"Following our incredible debut at the 2004 Sydney International, where we sold an amazing eight Maritimo 60s, there was never any hesitation in selecting Sydney to debut the new 52," according to Maritimo marketing manager, Peter Jenkins.

The 2005 Sydney International Boat Show is scheduled for its traditional Darling Harbour venue over six action packed days, July 28 - August 2.

More than 300 exhibitors comprising the cream of the Australian marine industry's manufacturers, distributors, importers and retailers, will show their goods and services to an attendance likely to go close to 100,000.

Sponsored by Club Marine and NSW Maritime, the Sydney International Boat Show has cemented its status as the primary recreational boating exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere, its annual crowd figures far exceeding any similar show south of the equator.

While the Maritimo 52 is sure to attract plenty of interest, it is far from the show's only attraction; the category winners in the annual Boat of the Year awards, sailboats, powerboats, motor yachts and fishing boats will all win their share of admirers.

Other attractions confirmed by organisers, the Boating Industry Association of NSW, include the always popular Yamaha Fishing Clinic, the educational Better Boating workshops, the Strictly Sail exhibition, exciting Boat Building Competitions and a series of daily fashion parades.

"The main aim of the association has been to present a show that offers a bonanza of entertainment and interest for all the family," Domenic Genua, the association's marketing and event manager, explained.

Genua said the Darling Harbour complex had proven an ideal boat show venue.
"With ample parking, all manner of public transport linking to the complex, five-star hotels surrounding it, a superb retail centre and a score of cafes and restaurants, Darling Harbour has it all," he said.

This year's show will be open daily, 10am to 8pm (halls and the adjoining Cockle Bay Marina, where some 270 luxurious vessels will be on show). Admission prices are $17 (single adult), $40 (family ticket admitting two adults and up to three children aged 6-17-years), $15 (Seniors Card holders), $11 (Pensioners) and $9 (children aged 6-17-years).
Children under 5-years admitted free.
