Mercury Marine New Product for Sydney Boat Show

As always Mercury Marine will be out in force at the Sydney Boatshow in 2006 with a large display of all the latests in Marine engine technology.

New from Mercury in 2006 are the latest in low emission two-strokes - Generation 2 OptiMax engines -The upgrades to the OptiMax lineup make what many call these best DFI engine ever built! These enhancements vary by model but include such things as improved sound level and quality and new styling, plus a new gearcase on the 3.0 liter family members.There are a dozen OptiMax models ranging from 75 to 300 horsepower, so there is an OptiMax engine built to fit any application from a mid-size aluminum boat or pontoon to the biggest tournament offshore fishing boat. These new OptiMax engines will be available to buy in Australia, New Zealand & Pacific in summer 2006/07.

Also new for 2006 are the new 75, 90 and 115 EFI FourStrokes from Mercury Marine.

Mercury has 23 individual FourStrokes from the ultra-light 2.5 hp to the now-legendary 275 hp Verado.These rugged new models are the eighth, ninth and 10th engines born of Mercury’s Verado platform strategy. Though they don’t share the Verado name(reserved for the supercharged models), they do share a common engine architecture and have many common components, making these 1.7-liter stalwarts easily the most durable in their class.These new 4Stroke engines will be available to buy in Australia, New Zealand & Pacific from June 2006.

Also, catch a look at the new Quicksilver RIB range including the 260, 280 and 310 Dynamic tenders. All Quicksilver models are available in both Duratex and Hypalon material.

The very latest in true vessel integration can be seen at the Mercury Marine stand- all-new VesselView SmartCraft display. SmartCraft is Mercury’s exclusive control-area-network-based system that gives boaters an unprecedented level of information about their boats.

SmartCraft links the propulsion control module on each engine to an advanced computer network so the driver can access all manner of data such as speed, engine rpm, cooling water temperature, water depth and fuel consumption via SmartCraft gauges and displays.

MerCruiser will have on display for the first time a brand new enhancement for the DTS system. Smart Tow: RPM Cruise and Launch Control also, the brand new Ltd Edition Black Scorpion with the racey blue plenom and pully is a another must see at the Mercury stand.

Also visit the Cummins MerCruiser stand to see the very latest in diesel inboard engines-- QSB5.9 ES 230. This revolutionary package combines diesel technology with Mercury MerCruiser's proven Bravo II-X Drive.
