British Fly the Flag at the Sydney Boat Show

27th June 2006

British boatbuiilders Sunseeker, Princess, Fairline and Sealine will be showcasing the UK marine industry in Sydney in the first week of August, at the harbour city's 39th International Boat Show (3-8 August).

The floating marina in Darling Harbour will be provided by another UK company, Walcon Marine, and will include mooring for around 270 luxury vessels.

More than 300 exhibitors have signed up for the show, representing boat builders, marine engine and equipment producers and distributors.

Domenic Genua, of organisers Boating Industry Association of NSW, says the Sydney International is the biggest in Australia, with more business written than at any other show.

'While it's the association's responsibility to provide a clear cut business platform for the industry, we also need to be aware that we must offer a safe and entertaining environment for the all-important consumer,' he said.

The number of visitors during the six days of the show in the halls and marina is expected to nudge 100,000.
