Biggest Boat on Show in Sparkling $30 Million Sunseeker Showcase

27th July 2006

With the biggest boat at this year's Sydney International Boat Show (3-8 August), amidst a dazzling display of on-water luxury, including two new models and an Australian award winner, Sunseeker has created unprecedented anticipation for its stunning $30 million showcase.

On hand to appreciate what will be Sunseeker's best-ever display in Australian waters will be company founder and international marine industry luminary Robert Braithwaite MBE, who flies in from the UK especially for the event.

The breathtaking 94 yacht takes the honour as this year's largest and most luxurious model in Sydney, but even she will have to share centre stage with two new Sunseeker models - the Portofino 47and Manhattan 60, and two outstanding Predator 72's, the 2006 Australia Marine Industry Federation's (AMIF) imported non-trailerable boat of the year.

Robert Braithwaite's debut visit downunder will celebrate the success of Sunseeker in Australasia, which includes AMIF awards for best imported boats in their categories in three of the last four years.

Considered one of the world's marine industry's visionaries, Mr Braithwaite, who started Sunseeker more than 35 years ago, will be guest of honour at the Sunseeker Spectacular evening event on Saturday 5th August, a highlight of the boat show.

Building his first speed boat in 1968, Mr Braithwaite has gone on to build what is widely recognised as the pre-eminent marine brand in the world today, with the family business now turning over in excess of £170 million annually and employing over 1,750 people.

Appointed MBE (Member of the British Empire) by Her Majesty in 1992 for services to the boating industry, Mr Braithwaite has received numerous marine industry and business awards in Britain.

Today Sunseeker International's portfolio ranges from the 34 Superhawk to the Predator 108 - with plans to build a 37M Yacht in the very near future.

The luxury line-up of 12 of the latest and most popular models in Sydney represents a truly definitive collection of the Sunseeker marquee.

Elegance abounds on the immaculate 94 Yacht, built to impress and luxuriate in spacious, ergonomic and exquisite interiors.

Her enormous upper saloon combines dynamic, fluid curves with stylish functionality, whilst accommodation is lavishly finished throughout.

The generous accommodation includes an aft owner's stateroom and foreward VIP stateroom, both with ample ensuites and walk in robes, and en-suited guest cabins on both port and starboard sides, plus crew quarters.

With a range of up to 750 miles cruising serenely at 12 knots, and a top speed of 31 knots, the 94 Yacht is built for extended sea journeys in comfort and style.

Sunseeker's prolific production of innovative new models and relentless quest for luxury refinements, means each new model surpasses the last and there is always a technological advancement, design enhancement or new inclusion to excite.

In the case of the Portofino 47 it's the addition of a sliding hard-top that makes it a standout as the new model in the popular Offshore Cruiser range, while the Manhattan 60, Sunseeker's mid-sized Flybridge Motoryacht, combines space and performance without a hint of compromise on either.

As the award proves, the Predator 72 is the perfect performance-packed marriage of power and speed with range and space - pleasure is guaranteed. (2 on display at Show)

The $4.5 million Predator 72 was undoubtedly the star attraction when she made her Australian debut at Sanctuary Cove - her sheer power and breathtaking top speeds flaunt her race-bred heritage, while dynamic exterior curves distinguish her as classic Sunseeker.

Generously equipped for chic entertaining, her interiors are full of natural light and luxuriously finished down to the last detail. The state-of-the-art helm, with observer seats, gives everyone the ultimate vantage point to experience the Predator 72's power.

With a large aft cockpit, a spacious deck saloon area, three large en-suite cabins and an enclosed wheelhouse, the sense of space on offer, along with top speeds of 38 knots and a range of 380 nautical miles presents an enticing combination.

With its predecessor the Portofino 46 proving highly popular in Australasian waters, the new Portofino 47 promises even wider appeal.

Designers have used a broader beam and longer hull to provide a much greater volume throughout, in an enhanced layout that increases accommodation in all areas.

Boasting a new hard top that opens and closes with a touch of a button to give the flexibility of all-weather protection without any loss of open charm, the versatile sports cruiser is also equipped with more powerful, technically-advanced engines.

Ideal as a spacious family day boat, the Portofino 47 is equally comfortable with extended cruising and steers the spirited range into new waters.

Not to be outdone, the Manhattan 60 is both beguiling in looks and versatile in layout.

Curvaceous, elegant and refined, the Manhattan 60 will impress your guests, while putting them at ease in sophisticated surrounds just made for relaxation.

The flybridge affords ample space to enjoy the fresh air, whether sharing drinks around the foldaway table or stretching out in the sun, while inside the curved settees in the main saloon are complemented by large dining areas, making entertaining easy.

The Manhattan 60's accommodation deck sleeps six in three luxurious, en suite cabins with the useful option of a twin berth aft crew cabin.
