Sydney International Boat Show Poised to Celebrate Forty Successful Years

22nd December 2006

The 2007 Sydney International Boat Show (August 2 - 7) is on track for another bumper edition as organisers plan their 40th event. This prestigious event first ran in 1968 and has grown to be the southern hemispheres most recognised consumer event as well as the show where exhibitors report the highest product sales and B2B activity.

More than 300 exhibitors, comprising the finest boat builders, marine retailers, distributors and manufacturers will converge on the Darling Harbour waterfront, ensuring that the cavernous exhibition centre and the Cockle Bay Marina become the Australian marine industry's headquarters for the six-day action-packed days.

The show occupies the six cavernous halls of the Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre, while on the sparkling waters of the adjoining Cockle Bay; a specially constructed Walcon Marina will be home to more than 300 vessels ranging from 7 to more than 30 metres.

Situated within the harbour city's central business district, Darling Harbour is only a short distance from the entertainment hub and Sydney icons such as the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The 2007 Sydney International Boat Show offers a minor change to its opening hours; both the exhibition centre and the Cockle Bay Marina will open for business at 1000hrs, but business will cease on the marina at 1800hrs, while the halls remain open until 2000hrs.
