The Innovation Continues

4 June 2007

The exciting new Riviera 4400 Sport Yacht is the centrepiece of a massive Riviera and R Marine display at the Sydney International Boat Show.

The Riviera 4400 Sport Yacht takes luxury boating to a new level with Volvo Penta Inboard Performance System (IPS) propulsion.

Demonstrating the company’s commitment to continuing innovation, two Flybridge models will show off significant evolutions to add new levels of comfort. An Enclosed Flybridge version of the popular 47 Flybridge model and a mezzanine seating option for the cockpit of the Riviera 56 Flybridge models will both be on display at the Show.

Riviera will have more than 15 boats across three lines on display while the company’s R Marine Dealer Network will also display six Princess motor yachts.

The Volvo Penta IPS system on the 4400 Sport Yacht offers easy handling and manoeuvring even in tight situations and a joystick for easy docking. This boat continues the indoor-outdoor character and sense of light and space introduced on the first award-winning Riviera 3600 Sport Yacht. This two cabin/two bathroom cruiser is the ultimate in lifestyle-orientated vessel.

The additional of an Enclosed Flybridge model to the popular Riviera 47 Flybridge is certain to create strong interest upon its release at the Show.

The solid GRP three-sided enclosed flybridge has sliding side windows and air conditioning. Three wipers and fresh water washers to the front windscreen ensure clear forward vision at all times.

The flybridge is designed with an aft helm position and forward guest seating. The helm features Pompanette helm and companion chairs and the slimline dashboard has space for two 15-inch navigation displays as well as comprehensive engine monitoring systems.

The forward guest seating comprises a bench to port with an insulated cool box underneath and an L-shaped lounge to starboard with hi-lo GRP table and drink holders. The table can convert to day bed or even extra overnight sleeping.

A wet bar immediately forward of the access hatchway at the rear of the flybridge has a front-opening fridge under a stainless steel sink and drainage board with mixer tap.

And there is plenty of storage under the lounge and in a large area in the forepeak.
Access from cockpit to the flybridge is via a ladder. The access hatchway has a lockable hinged hatch to ensure both strength and reduced weight.

Both Open and Enclosed models of the Riviera 56 Flybridge now have the option of a mezzanine seating area for up to three people in the forward section of the cockpit, directly below the bulkhead window. Guests can relax in comfort in the cockpit to observe fishing action well out of the way of participants. It is also a great place on passage to sit in the open, protected from wind and weather.

The port seat has a refrigerator underneath and a storage locker under the step while the centre seat is hinged up to provide access to the engine room.
