For six exciting days, July 31 to August 5, Darling Harbour will become the headquarters of the Australian boating industry when the 2008 Sydney International Boat Show clicks into top gear.

More than 300 exhibitors comprising the major boat manufacturers, engine distributors, marine electronics specialists, marine retailers and other industry sectors will pack the 28,000 square metres of the Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre with millions of dollars worth of product.

On adjoining Cockle Bay, the largest marina (more than 800-metres in length) ever assembled specifically for an Australian boat show will be home to 300 or more luxury craft, ranging from runabouts and sport fishing rigs through to luxury mega yachts with multi-million dollar price tags.

As usual, the show offers an array of entertainment, with the Yamaha Fishing Clinic expected to again play to standing room-only audiences, daily fashion parades featuring the latest in nautically-inspired sportswear and the Better Boating Lounge with a line-up of interesting and informative guest presenters covering a whole host of subjects.

Many of the nation’s leading boat builders will be launching new vessels not seen before on NSW waterways.

Admission prices for the 2008 show remain unchanged at $18 (Adult ticket), $42 (Family ticket admitting two adults and up to three children aged 6-17-years), $16 (Seniors Card holders), $12 (Aged Pensioner Card holders) and $10 (Child aged 6-17-years). Children 5-years & under admitted free.

The 2008 Sydney International Boat Show will be open 10am to 8pm daily for visitors to the six halls of the exhibition centre and from 10am to 6pm on the Cockle Bay Marina.

All manner of public transport’ buses, light rail, ferries and the Sydney suburban rail network service the venue and motorists will find ample car parking all within a few minutes walk of the main entrance.
