Boating Industry to show its class at the Sydney International Boat Show

9 July 2008

The Australian recreational boating industry, recognised worldwide for its efficiency and manufacturing capability, will display all its class and style at the forthcoming Sydney International Boat Show (July 31-August 5).

Scheduled for the 20th showing at its now traditional Darling Harbour venue, the show, sponsored by NSW Maritime, already has the ‘house full’ sign posted as more than 300 exhibitors have committed to taking part.

Research undertaken by show organisers, the Boating Industry Association of NSW, has revealed that visitors to the show seek entertainment and information and to that end the association has pulled out all stops.

A major attraction will include daily appearances by young adventurers James Castrission and Justin Jones, who attracted world attention when they conquered the Tasman Sea is the world’s longest-ever kayak expedition

Show visitors will also be among the first to see the recent winners in the prestigious Boats of the Year awards, while the always popular Yamaha Fishing Clinics will play to its usual standing-room only audiences.

Throw in daily Musto fashion parades, the fabulous Better Boating Lounge and it becomes obvious that the Sydney International Boat Show is an event not to be missed.

In addition to the Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre’s six vast halls packed with millions of dollars worth of boats, engines, marine electronics, fishing tackle and general boating accessories, the spectacular marina on adjoining Cockle Bay will prove a major drawcard.

The Sydney International Boat Show will open daily at 10am; the halls will remain open each day until 8pm, but operations cease on the marina at 6pm.

Admission charged remain unchanged at $18 (single adult), $42 (family ticket admitting two adults and up to three children aged 6-17 years), $16 (Senior Card holders), $12 (pensioners) and $10 (children aged 6-17 years).

Children under 5-years admitted free.
