Australian teenager and inspiration to many, seventeen year old Jessica Watson, is officially confirmed to be a special guest speaker at this year’s Sydney International Boat Show.

Jessica Watson, otherwise known as ‘the darling of the high seas’ navigated the world in under eight months, and will appear at the Better Boating Lounge at the show to share her amazing journey and incredible story with the visiting public as well as discuss her exciting book launch.

Domenic Genua, Marketing and Event Manager for the Boating Industry Association said it was ‘truly exciting’ to be able to confirm Jessica Watson as the show’s special guest.

This year, the Sydney International Boat Show will be an extravagant affair setting a benchmark as the largest boat show in the Southern Hemisphere with over 70,000 attendees predicted to visit. Situated against the pristine backdrop of Darling Harbour, the Sydney International Boat Show will be a tremendous event that will captivate both genuine boating enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

The Boat Show will be an extraordinary event with plenty to see, hear and do on the day from visiting the Historical Boat Displays to gain an interesting insight into the history of boating, watching the Musto Fashion Parades for the latest boating looks, entering the popular Photography Competition and embarking on a memorable voyage with the Discover Boating Tours of Sydney Harbour. There are plenty of exciting activities that will be sure to be enjoyed by all visitors.

As always, a show highlight will be the spectacular marina on Cockle Bay. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the harbour and city skyline, families can enjoy the spectacle of the best the marine industry has to offer.

Along with Jessica Watson, other guest speakers will include Don McIntyre, Sean Smith (‘the Fat Paddler’) and the Norris Family who will share their remarkable boating journeys at the show and offer the audience a first hand insight into these personal experiences which changed their lives. 

The iconic Walk of Fame and the Nautilus Marine Boat Insurance Fishing Clinic will also be the pit stops for a great boating experience to ensure that visitors have the opportunity to see and learn more about the various activities associated with recreational boating.

The Sydney International Boat show is sponsored by the NSW Maritime and will be operating for 5 action-packed days from July 29 to August 2.
